Daily Planets Sunday 5/9/10

Sunday, September 5th, 2010

It is Fathers Day here in Australia, so I have been up for hours making corn fritters for Scorpio hubby- it seems the older five foot nothing gets, the less likely she is to help out with much more than making a mess!

The Moon is still in Cancer, where she will remain until this evening. She is now nearing the balsamic phase- the dark of the Moon, the time of finishing off, of banishing, the end of the cycle. The New Moon in Virgo (at 15 Virgo 40′ish) will happen Wednesday evening Sydney time. More on that as we get closer. But start thinking now what area of your life this new cycle will be in.

As I write this, the Moon is square Mars and will during the day move to square Venus. Five Foot Nothing is under orders to be nice to Dad today….all day! Under this aspect the whole sitting around the cave feeling safe and warm can lead to frustrated energies and disputes over not a lot…speaking of which, I am in danger of doing the same over the explosion of dirty pans in my sink.

Wherever you are, enjoy your Sunday.

Some Random Stuff

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

From the “just saying” files…

At yoga last night (I do this Kundalini yoga which is sort of different to regular yoga & concentrates a lot of stuff like chakras & meridiens etc) our teacher was telling us about the importance of mudras (the things you do with your hands when you do the various poses & meditations). What got me was how closely the yogis correlated some of the poses with what is loosely medical astrology.

For example, each finger on your hand is associated with a planet and the meaning of that planet. So, the thumb is the divine self, the soul. This is really your instinctive self, your Moon. The index finger is Jupiter and expansion, abundance, spirituality & joinging the thumb and index finder is the seal of knowledge. The middle finger is Saturn and the seal of patience. The ring finger is the Sun and the seal of vitality. The little finger is Mercury and represents communication. There are other mudras which work on Venus and Mars principles too.

So next time you are sitting in a meeting and someone is really crapping on about nothing, join your middle and ring fingers under the table and press them together….patience. Feel the serenity?

Daily Planets Tuesday 31/8/10

Monday, August 30th, 2010

Take one square of chocolate and hit repeat.

Not a whole lot of interest out there again tomorrow. The Moon is midway through Taurus and all the usual Taurus things are happening. The temptation to spend the day in bed in jammies watching movies, eating chocolates and doing not a whole lot springs to mind.

We know the Taurus Moon likes to take things slooooowly, and is more about comfort than speed. I may just use this excuse tomorrow morning at the gym when my 2nd Favourite Aries Male tries to push me past my comfort level (and that of my crappy achilles) on the treadmill “you know I really want to push it harder, but the Moon is in Taurus and with all of those lovely trines happening and Mars still in Libra, I really think I should sit down for a while…” Somehow I think I know what his response will be.

So, what else apart from eating and shopping and lolling around is the Taurus Moon good for? Gardening, of course, so if you don’t have to be in any office tomorrow, go get your hands dirty…in a nice, productive and green way. A Facebook friend commented that she is using the energy of the waning Taurus Moon to plant some spuds…sounds like a good use for the planetary energy to me!

Mercury Rx- The Story So Far…and a Little Horary

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

I wrote the other day how my mornally seamless Mercury Rx run had come to a sudden and screaming halt. Yesterday that got taken to even greater heights.

I woke yesterday to my website being down…which is where it stayed for most of the day. Yesterday was also spent trying to stop myself from hurling my mobile phone at a wall as it had decided to leak battery charge, indiscriminately remove ring tones and lose wallpaper. then the handsfree function which hasn’t worked for like ever decided to turn itself on…briefly. I am taking it as a sign that I really need to buy an iphone.

Back to the website. It turns out that someone tried to hack into my website late on Thursday evening and replace my content with something that was extremely distasteful. Enough said about that. Thankfully I have the best geeky anti hacker brains as my site provider and the intrusion was detected early. The lowlife then kept trying throughout the day and was continually thwarted. This was a much larger effort than most hackers would normally put into something, so it made me wonder whether anyone really hates me that much. Sure I know that I annoy a lot of people (and a few spring to mind immediately), but to do that?

So I did what all astrologers would do- immediately cast a horary chart on the subject. For non astro peeps, tune out now….

Horary is a traditional method which bascally is casting a chart for the minute a specific question is asked. In the chart I cast, the 1st house and its ruler represented me and the 12th house and its ruler represents secret enemies. The sign on the cusp of the 1st was Jupiter (Rx in Aries) and on the 12th was Aquarius represented by Saturn. The opposition was separating and with Saturn in the 7th (any other people) and leaving, and Jupiter on its way back into Pisces where he would be in a better condition, I decided that the hacker who was strong (Saturn in Libra) was leaving and I would soon be in a better condition.

Either way, the whole thing left me feeling absolutely sick to the stomach and, especially after a few wines last night, wondering whether it was a “sign” that I shouldn’t be out there on the web…or maybe that is my very paranoid Mars in 8th house Scorpio talking.

I guess the silver lining is that I know I have a great provider and I had the excuse of casting a horary that was a tad more meaningful than “Will St Kilda win this weekend?” or “Will my friends team (Fremantle) win this weekend?” or “Will my daughters team (Swans) win this weekend?”…yep, my sad secret is out- I use horarycharts for my footy tipping…
