I am a Sydney based Astrologer, Blogger and Change/ Project Manager- in no particular order. When you add in the home roles of Wife/ Domestic Diva & Mum (to a gorgeous daughter & bouncing cocker spaniel), I often wonder where the days go.
My chart is packed full of Pisces planets which probably explains why I remain naively hopeful that I can make a difference through bringing astrology into the real world of the workplace. With a Sagittarian Midheaven, I am most afraid of confined spaces, partitions, Business as Usual and clearly defined Job Descriptions, but with Jupiter as my ruler, I also tend to have a portable soapbox that I jump on from time to time as Queen of Lost Causes.
What else about me? I believe that there is a Pet Shop Boys song and episode of Absolutely Fabulous or Sex and the City applicable for all life issues, I can’t leave the house without my ipod, I like to believe that there can be a world where nothing bad ever happens to anyone. I am “lime” green rather than “green” green and a hypocrite when it comes to political leanings (so I have been told). I don’t like shopping malls, but love shopping alleys & laneways. I love to travel but am the worst companion for any trip longer than 3 hours and firmly believe that the statute of limitations of UnFinished Projects (UFPs) should be reduced to 3 years.
I have been interested in astrology for most of my life, but it wasn’t until a few years ago that I looked beyond the Sun signs. Uranus crossed my Ascendant and my whole sense of identity, my relationships, my work and my responsibilities completely turned upside down. It was exciting and it was flipping heart breaking.
At this point I began formal studies with Kelly Surtees at the Earth Institute in Crows Nest. Astrology became a way of understanding what was happening to me and why. The knowledge helped me deal with the restlessness I was feeling. I could see both the potentials and challenges inherent in my chart and in understanding, I also had choices. Understanding didn’t necessarily help me make better choices, didn’t stop me from yearning for what I couldn’t have or be, but it helped me begin to accept me.
And that is what astrology can do. It is not some magic wand that will magically spirit all your problems away, land you the partner of your dreams or the ideal job. Nor does it provide a set of excuses as to why you haven’t made that first million at 30 and why you still need to lose 20kgs (or is that just me?). What it does do is give you tools- tools that will help you understand your motivations, your needs and your energies. You choose what you do with that knowledge.

Thinking about moving somewhere else in the world? Whether your intention is for work, play, love or all of the above, consider getting a relocation report done. Using your birth time, we literally move your chart to where you want to move and analyse how that may impact you.

Jo also offers Birth Charts generated from SolarFire. These are ideal if you are not quite ready for a reading, but want to find out for yourself where your personal planets reside.
